Meet Michael Valceski
Michael Valceski is Wollongong born and raised, growing up in Coniston. He is a cancer researcher and academic tutor at the University of Wollongong (UOW), having recently completed a PhD in medical and radiation physics focused on curative brain cancer research. Michael has experience across the higher education sector and in the NFP sector, volunteering and fundraising with community service organizations, charities, and clubs.
Michael was elected by his peers as a student leader and representative to UOW’s Academic Senate and as the Chair of its Student Advisory Council, and has worked to elevate the voice of students and young people and enhance their participation in decision-making.
He is now running as a candidate in Ward 2 for Wollongong City Council in 2024 to be the voice of young people across Wollongong.
