It’s time for new leadership in Wollongong. Only Labor has a plan to revitalize our city and build on new opportunities facing the region. 

We will work with State and Federal Governments to attract, create and protect local jobs ensuring a vibrant regional economy. We want Wollongong to be the best place to live, work and raise a family.  Labor will build new infrastructure in our suburbs to support our growing population.

Labor is committed to action on climate change and protecting our local environment for current and future generations.

Our Council must listen and deliver for local residents - I’ll lead a team that is focused on listening to local residents and delivering better services.

The Labor team will:

Prioritise Housing

We will face the housing crisis head on and lead a city that people can afford to live in. 

We will work with State and Federal Government’s to address housing affordability and look for innovative policy solutions.

Driving investment
and jobs

We will seize opportunities open to the region to deliver a sustainable future with a vibrant economy and secure new job opportunities for our community.

We will kick start our economy by:

  • Doubling the live music and community events budget

  • Bringing major events to the city

  • Supporting a hydrogen industry to create jobs for the future

  • Ensuring Council buys from local suppliers

  • Support a new cruise terminal for Port Kembla

We delivered a skills roundtable, cut the City Centre Special Levy and waived outdoor dining fees till July 2025.

Investing in our suburbs

We will build more footpaths, connect our community, maintain our public spaces and keep our community safe.

We will create a maintenance flying squad to ensure our local infrastructure is maintained. 

We are committed to:

  • Building a new Helensburgh and Warrawong Library and Community Centre

  • Ensure council facilities are accessible for all

  • More EV charging stations

  • More beach mats to improve accessibility at our beaches

We delivered the Stuart Park All Abilities Playground, Lindsay Maynes Criterium Track and upgrades to Fred Finch Netball courts and new tennis courts at Beaton Park.

Valuing our environment

Labor wants Wollongong to be the best place to live, work and raise a family.

We will protect what’s unique about our local environment for current and future generations.

We are committed to:

  • Planting more trees

  • FOGO roll out to units

  • Investing in sustainable transport.

This Labor team brings government, public and private sector, community and arts experience and we are determined to use these skills and hard earned experience to deliver new leadership and new ideas for Wollongong.
